Meet Alexandra Turner
FOUNDER & FLORAL DESIGNER OF VELLA NEST
Where Art, Nature & Story Come Together
Inspired by the romance of European gardens and a lifelong appreciation for art and nature, Alexandra Turner founded Vella Nest Floral Design in 2015 with a belief that flowers should do more than decorate a space—they should create a feeling.
Born in South America to a Spanish mother and Italian father, Alexandra grew up surrounded by rich cultural influences, natural landscapes, and an appreciation for beauty that would later shape her approach to floral design.
Today, she brings those influences together through floral compositions rooted in natural movement, layered texture, expressive color, and intentional design—creating celebrations that feel refined, organic, and deeply personal.

Designed to Belong

Every celebration begins with its setting. Alexandra considers the architecture, landscape, light, and character of each venue, designing florals that feel naturally connected to their surroundings rather than simply added to them.
From delicate garden-inspired compositions to sculptural statement installations, every element is thoughtfully considered for movement, proportion, texture, and atmosphere.
The result is floral design that feels abundant without feeling forced, refined without feeling rigid, and distinctly personal to each celebration.

Let me just start by saying, I cannot say enough good things about this florist! She did the floral at my daughter’s wedding this past weekend, at the nest at Ruth Farms. It turned out absolutely spectacular.!!!! We received compliments all night long!!!! Our wedding planner, Whitney, at Mother And Daughters Design House, suggested her, so she came with a very high recommendation. She certainly did not disappoint. She exceeded my expectations in every way!!!!!! She really listened to every Detail my daughter requested and absolutely nailed it. Thank you so much for turning my daughter‘s big day into the wedding of her dreams!!!
BEHIND THE NAME
Alexandra’s love for delicate flowers and lush gardens began in childhood, surrounded by South America’s ever-changing landscapes. With her father often traveling, her family’s nomadic lifestyle created a longing for a sense of home.
To create comfort in each new place, Alexandra and her mother began a tradition of building bird nests together from branches and natural elements they found around them. That simple ritual became a symbol of resilience, belonging, and the beauty of creating a home wherever life takes you.
Years later, that memory became part of the inspiration behind Vella Nest—a name rooted in home, new beginnings, nature, and the belief that beauty can create a sense of belonging.
